Principal Immanuel Lutheran School

Immanuel Lutheran School recently celebrated its 100th day of school.  As part of the 100th day activities, students and teachers created a 100th birthday card for Immanuel Lutheran Church’s oldest living member, Ruth Lanham, complete with 100 candles!  ILS has been busy with many other happenings over the last few months.  Here are some:
  • Taylor Dice won the National Geographic Geography Bee for ILS for the 3rd year in a row!
  • In the first trimester, Christian Arbour received High Honors.  Receiving Honors were: Joshua Bowen, Nicholas Leo, Nicholas Morits, Lauren Ritacco, Christopher Torres, and Caleb Wardenburg
  • Many students on grades 2-5 participated in an after school Lego engineering club and created many interesting working machines.
  • Chess Club ended its season with the championship game between 2011 champion, Nick Leo and 2010 champ, Taylor Dice.  Nick Leo was victorious and is the 2012 champion.
  • The after school Art Club is currently putting the final touches on a mural that displays this year’s theme-“We are all one in Christ Jesus.”  This mural truly captures the diversity of ILS.  It can be found in the middle of the first floor hallway.
  • Our boys play basketball on a joint team with Christian Life Academy.  The junior varsity team won the league title this year.

Please join us as we celebrate Lutheran Schools the week of March 11.  There will be a special worship service on March 11 at the 10:45am service.  There will also be many exciting events and service projects taking place all week at school.  Check the school bulletin board or this website for a schedule of activities.

The annual PTL auction and dinner dance is on March 23.  This is always a great time of fun and fellowship.  This year, the PTL has brought in the Clark Eno Orchestra to entertain.  Please contact the school office for tickets and check out the PTL link for auction items.

The Board of Missions and ILS are proud to announce the start of Camp SAILS this summer.  This is a new and exciting opportunity for Christian outreach to the community.  The camp is for PK-8th grade and runs from July 16-August 3.  Contact either the church or school office or click on the Camp SAILS link for more information or an application.

May God bless you during this Lenten period and may we all be strengthened as we reflect upon Jesus Christ on His journey to the cross.
