3 Year Old Program - Goals and Objectives

The preschool program for three-year-olds at Immanuel Lutheran School helps children accomplish many goals throughout the year. We strive, through lesson plans and our daily environment, to help students to:

* Enjoy learning.
* Learn socialization skills (playing together and sharing).
* Show Christian love and concern for others.
Preschool Fair
* Gain independence and learn self-discipline.
* Learn to follow directions.
* Improve motor skills.
* Learn responsibility for themselves (daily jobs, clean up, organizing to go home).
* Trace the letters in their name.
* Work with problem-solving, positional terms and math manipulatives.
* Learn colors and shapes, and be introduced to numbers and the alphabet.
* Work with time relations, weather, visual
discrimination, body parts and visual motor skills.
* Experience a variety of art and cooking activities.
* Gain a positive self-image through positive reinforcement.
* Grow in the knowledge that they are God's special child, and that they are loved.



4 Year Old Program - Goals and Objectives

The preschool program for four year olds at Immanuel Lutheran School helps children accomplish many goals throughout the year. We strive, through lesson plans and our daily environment, to help students to:

* Prepare for kindergarten and enjoy learning.
* Learn socialization skills (playing together and sharing).
* Show Christian love and concern for others.
* Gain independence and learn self-discipline.
* Learn to follow directions.
* Improve motor skills.
* Learn responsibility for themselves (daily jobs, clean up, organizing to go home).
* Print their name.
* Work with problem-solving, positional terms and math manipulatives.
* Learn their address and phone number.
* Learn colors, shapes, numbers and the alphabet.
* Work with time relations, weather, visual discrimination, body parts and visual motor skills.
* Experience a variety of art and cooking activities.
* Gain a positive self-image through positive reinforcement.
* Grow in the knowledge that they are God's special child, and that they are loved.
* Learn pre-reading skills, such as left to right orientation, letter names, letter sounds and grouping letters to make words.
