During Jesus time this week we have been talking about helping. We heard the story of Samuel and how he was both a helper to Pastor Eli and to God. We can be a helper for God and show His love to others as we help them. “We love because [God] first loved us.” 1 John 4:19.
We have been working on numbers and have also been talking about letters. At HWT time (that’s Handwriting without Tears) we did Aim and Scribble. We were working on our hand grip and control not our neat coloring.
We used marbles to roll paint to make spider webs for decorations for the Costume Social next Friday, Oct 23. We also read our news paper about nocturnal animals.
We used our rhythm sticks and kept a beat to a number of songs from other countries. We also read the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have some budding actors and actresses as we acted out the story with the students doing an excellent job playing the parts.
With the cold weather fast approaching I would like to ask that you add a hat and a pair of gloves or mittens. We will go out if the weather is nice even when it is cold. We encourage the children to wear either a hat or hood to go out. (It really does help them stay warmer.) Also make sure that you have checked the clothes in the backpacks and change them for the weather. Our playground seems colder and windier than out in front of the school so don’t forget to dress them warmly on those cool days.
