Mrs. Lutz Science & Computers
Middle school science started with a short-term memory experiment, microscope viewings, and the making of sourdough bread with wild yeast. Each class is now exploring a different aspect of life science. In addition, students are researching topics that will become written reports, slide shows, and class presentations. Please visit student displays in the cafeteria (grade 6 skeleton models, grade 7 nutrition charts) and on the second floor bulletin board (grade 8 genetics). We keep busy in science exploring the natural world.
For an upcoming “applied science” study on inventions, we will be taking apart small machines that yield to a screwdriver (remotes, toasters, telephones, keyboards, thermostats and the like). If you have an item that might be suitable for this purpose, please send it in (you will not get it back!). Also, I am collecting discarded Christmas lights for another project involving electricity. So, before you throw something out, remember middle school science, where one person’s discards can become another person’s learning tool!
